SCOT WHITNEY, Adaptor/Lyricist/Director

Scot is one of the founders of Harlequin Productions (1991) and serves as its Managing Artistic Dirctor. He was an obsessive filmmaker for many years, but found great relief from that malady by becoming an obsessive theater director. Favorite directing projects include THE LONESOME WEST, THE LADY'S NOT FOR BURNING, KING JOHN, THE WEIR, DRACULA, HAPGOOD, SIXTEEN WORDS FOR WATER, CYRANO DE BERGERAC, THE TEMPEST, THE WINTER'S TALE, WAITING FOR GODOT, CYMBELINE, THE TWO GENTLEMEN OF VERONA, HAMLET and, of course, RR12N--for the third time now. He has won numerous awards for film and theater direction, and for his leadership in the State Theater project. Two of his productions--THE TEMPEST and HAPGOOD--are included in the permanent collection at the Theatre on Film and Tape Archive at the Lincoln Center in New York.

BRUCE WHITNEY, Composer/Musical Director

Bruce has composed 16 scores over ten seasons with Harlequin, including: King John, The Misanthrope, The Winter's Tale, The Tempest, Cyrano de Bergerac, Long Day's Journey Into Night, Henry V, Cymbeline, Waiting for Godot, Dracula,The Two Gentlemen of Verona, Dracula, Orphans, Hamlet, and two complete musicals: The Incredible Undersea Trial of Joseph P. Lawnboy and A Rock 'n' Roll Twelfth Night. He has also musically directed numerous shows, including A ROCK'N'ROLL TWELFTH NIGHT, STARDUST FOR EMILY JEAN, TAPESTRY and STARDUST SERENADE. Growing up with classical music, spending years playing rock'n'roll, he is a "musician/composer-for-life" in spite of degrees in more sensible professions from MIT and TESC.

JILL CARTER, Scenic Designer

Jill has designed sets, lights, props, costumes, masks and puppets for Harlequin Productions over the past nine seasons. Set design credits for Harlequin include KING JOHN, ROUGH CROSSING, THE TEMPEST, CYRANO DE BERGERAC, DRACULA and A ROCK & ROLL TWELFTH NIGHT, among others.
Jill is a graduate of The Evergreen State College where she studied technical theater and interned at ACT in San Francisco. Jill is now the Technical Director for TESC.

DARREN MILLS, Costume, Hair & Makeup Designer

Darren was sucked into theater quite suddenly when he heard about the concept for RR12N while cutting the Artistic Director's hair in 1997. He immediately offered to design Olivia's wigs. Within a week he had claimed the realm of all hair, wigs and makeup for the show, then claimed the same role for every project Harlequin produced for two years. He then took on costume design as well, designing THE REAL THING, FOREVER STARDUST, ASSASSINS, SWINGTIME STARDUST, MURDER IN THE CATHEDRAL, SYLVIA, THE MYSTERY OF EDWIN DROOD, STARDUST RADIO REVIEW, ROUGH CROSSING and our 1999 production of A ROCK'N'ROLL TWELFTH NIGHT. In 2001 he moved to New York, attracted by Broadway, and promptly went to work on THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, moved to THE MUSIC MAN, then was hired away to design wigs for MAMA MIA! from which he has taken a brief respite to design and build RR12N again from the ground up. Darren also recently designed costumes for TITANIC at University of Michigan.

STEVEN TAYLOR , Choreographer

Steven moved to the northwest with wife and son Boogie (Steven Jr.) from Indianapolis where he worked extensively with American Cabaret Theatre as a singer, dancer, and Resident Choreographer over several seasons. Since his arrival last summer he has performed in Harlequin's TAPESTRY and as Officer Owen Duvall in STARDUST SERENADE 1942, at Second Story Rep in GODSPELL, and in school tours for Taproot and Book-It Theatres. Roles with Theatre on the Square in Indianapolis include Danny in APPLAUSE, Richey in A CHORUS LINE, and the Sheriff and Dancer in THE BEST LITTLE WHOREHOUSE IN TEXAS. He has also done voice-over and commercial work for radio and television. Other favorite roles include: Hud in HAIR and Bobby in CRAZY FOR YOU.

SCOTT O'DONNELL
